Alameda Outdoor School Classroom
In 2012 we were asked to give some design guidance and cost analysis for a proposed outdoor classroom for the Alameda Elementary School in Portland Oregon. We worked closely with committee members in developing a design concept. The outdoor covered space would be used for outdoor classroom activities as well as other school function. The design would incorporate a rain harvesting system for use in school garden projects. Budget and constructability were big factors in creating a pavillion that was functional, attractive and safe. This is still an open proposal and it is our hope that the funding will be made available in the near future.
